We're honored to have a fantastic chef on board for our next Invasion whose menu you do not want to miss. Chef Luis Herrera grew up and attended school in Caracas, Venezuela, and recently spent several years as Sous Chef at Cosme, world-renowned Chef Enrique Olvera's award-winning Mexican-inspired restaurant in Manhattan. Chef Luis will create a high-end, five course Venezuelan-inspired menu with the freshest local ingredients, and his own brand of creativity, showcasing the depth of flavors and delicious authenticity of Venezuelan cuisine. We're committed to supporting non-profit organizations through our events in 2018; we love the opportunity to tell a story about a place, a cause, or a way to help improve the lives of others, through a menu and dining experience. For each ticket purchased, we will make a direct contribution to Caracas-based non-profit Barriga Llena, Corazon Contento (which translates to "Full Belly, Happy Heart"), that provides meals to hospitalized children. We're so excited to share Chef Luis' delicious menu with you, and to celebrate the flavors and food traditions of Venezuela, while raising funds for this important cause.   Our first time stopping in Detroit was in April, and we loved the feeling of the city thawing and the flowers starting to come out. Optimistically underdressed (and freezing), y'all made us feel right at home, and we knew we'd always be excited to come back.  This spring, we've got a bunch of shenanigans up our sleeve, and can't wait to share the good times with you. We'll be in a whole new neighborhood for us, in a really different kind of residence--nothing like we've Invaded before. We're still in Detroit proper, so no need to travel too far. We are reuniting with an amazing chef, one of our favorites in all our travels: Chef Sarah Welch. Those of you who came to the Quonset Hut Invasion might remember she is the mad genius who put ice cream in a salad. It was freaking delicious! Come see what sort of mayhem we'll get into this time around. Tickets are going fast!

This is our final 2018 date in Detroit. We already have a location! It will be in a Grosse Pointe-ish luxe artists's loft-fortress. We first saw this property when we came to do the first Invasion in the Motown Mansion and we've been dying to invade ever since. If you've never been in an artist's loft-fortress before, we're going to have to leave that part up to the imagination... or you could buy a ticket and see one firsthand. Chef to be announced, but as always, we will impress with the food and be working with a local Detroit chef! Looking forward to September, Invaders!
